The short version
- Rockstar has revealed six GTA 6 radio stations, with previews on the official GTA 6 site.
- For the first time in the series, you can listen on foot, through earbuds connected to Jason's or Lucia's phone.
- GTA 6 adds on-demand podcasts, another series first.
- The game launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The standard edition is ₹5,999 in India ($79.99 in the US).
The six stations
Rockstar calls this the biggest and widest-ranging radio selection in the series. So far, it has shown six:
- Flash FM: pop, hosted by Robyn and Alex. It's a Vice City institution, as fans of the 2002 game will remember.
- Cocoteo FM: modern Latin hits, including bachata, merengue, dembow and reggaeton, hosted by El Martillo and La Gata.
- Back Country Radio: country with a rowdy edge, hosted by MW and Delta Dawne. Reporter Mud Dog Mike files his reports from an airboat.
- Afro Bank FM: amapiano, 3-step and African classics, hosted by Burna and Palmsy.
- The Chamber 106.6: classic metal from the '80s onward, hosted by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom.
- Dirty South Classics: regional rap and hip-hop classics, hosted by Trick and Trina.
Kotaku spotted a few tracks in the previews, including MGMT's "Electric Feel", Slayer's "Raining Blood" and Loretta Lynn's "Don't Come Home a Drinkin'". More stations are still to be revealed.
Radio on foot, and podcasts
Until now, GTA radio has only played inside vehicles. In GTA 6, your character can put in earbuds and keep listening while walking around Leonida.
Podcasts work differently from talk radio. Talk stations run continuously, but podcasts are on demand, so you choose an episode. Rockstar hasn't explained how you'll pick one yet.
On paper, it's a small change that could matter a lot in a game where you spend so much time running between missions.
The album
There's also Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, with 34 original tracks, out November 19 alongside the game. Rockstar's music page lists artists including Travis Scott, Cardi B, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards.
The station previews are up on Rockstar's GTA 6 music page now. For dates, editions and everything else Rockstar has confirmed, see our GTA 6 guide.
