Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 Reportedly Slips to January 26, 2027

What's being reported

The date comes from billbil-kun at the French deals site Dealabs. Their record is one of the strongest around, especially on PlayStation Plus lineups and release dates, and Kotaku called them "extremely reliable". Dealabs says it ran its own checks before publishing.

It backs up what The Verge's Tom Warren hinted at in late August, when he said he wasn't expecting the PS5 version in 2026. Pushed on his sourcing, Warren replied: "I don't just make stuff up."

What's official

Very little. On September 7, Playground Games said Forza Horizon 6 "will be releasing on PS5 later this year". Then on October 6, the studio posted on X that it hadn't been "talking with you as much as we could be", without mentioning PS5 at all.

Kotaku asked Microsoft and Playground about the new date. No answer has been reported so far.

Reading the tea leaves

On paper, a January date makes some sense. Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19 (here's everything confirmed about it), and big releases have mostly been scheduled around it. Launching a big open-world driving game a few weeks after it would be a tough sell.

If the date holds, PS5 players will have waited roughly eight months after the Xbox and PC launch. For context, Forza Horizon 5 took more than three years to reach PS5, so this is still a much shorter gap.

What to watch

An official date from Playground or a PlayStation Store listing. Until one of those appears, treat January 26 as a strong rumor, not a promise.
