The short version
- The PlayStation Store Black Friday sale went live on November 4 and ends on November 30.
- Discounts go up to 75% on thousands of PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 games, expansions and DLC.
- It runs in two waves. New deals arrive on November 16, and some offers end early on November 20.
- Sony says discounts vary by region, so the Indian store's line-up and rupee prices may not match US or UK lists.
What Sony announced
Sony confirmed the sale on the PlayStation Blog on November 3. Its announcement is short on specifics. It doesn't name the discounted games in the text and doesn't list any hardware deals. Instead, it points to the Black Friday page on the PlayStation Store, where every discounted item and its price shows up.
What it does give is the schedule, and that's the part worth knowing, because this sale changes halfway through.

The dates, and what they mean in India
Sony sets the times at midnight PST, GMT and JST, depending on your region. India's PlayStation Store usually follows the GMT schedule, so here's how that converts:
| Date | What happens | Time in India (if GMT) |
|---|---|---|
| November 4 | Sale starts | 5:30 AM IST |
| November 16 | Promotion refreshes with new offers | 5:30 AM IST |
| November 20 | Some discounts end | 5:29 AM IST on November 21 |
| November 30 | Sale ends | 5:29 AM IST on December 1 |
That gives Indian players a small bonus. A deal that "ends on November 30" is still there when you wake up on December 1, for about five and a half hours. Don't count on it to the minute, but it's a handy cushion.
Why the two waves matter
The November 16 refresh is the detail most people will miss. Sony says some deals will be replaced with new offers on that date, and some current discounts will finish on November 20, ten days before the sale itself.
In practice, that means two things:
- If a game you want is on sale now, check its end date. Sony's advice is to look at each product page, which shows when that specific discount runs out. Some of today's deals may not survive the refresh.
- If a game you want isn't discounted yet, wait for November 16. It may join the sale in the second wave.
There's no way to know in advance which games are in which wave. Checking the product page is the only reliable method.

Up to 75% off: read the small print
"Up to 75%" is the ceiling. In most big PlayStation Store sales, the steepest cuts tend to go to older games and bundles, while newer releases get smaller discounts. Sony's own wording also carries an asterisk saying discounts may differ by region.
For Indian buyers, that matters more than usual. The Indian store sets its own rupee prices, so a game that's 50% off in the US might be 40% off here, or start from a different base price. A ₹4,999 game at 50% off drops to about ₹2,500, while a ₹3,999 game at 75% off drops to about ₹1,000. The percentage only tells you half the story; the final rupee price is what counts.
A few habits help:
- Compare against the regular price, not the "was" price on a banner. Some games were already discounted earlier this year.
- Check edition contents. Deluxe editions are often on sale too, and the gap between standard and deluxe can shrink a lot.
- Look at PS Plus extras. PlayStation Plus members sometimes get an extra discount on top of the sale price on selected games. Sony's post doesn't mention any for this sale, so check the product page.
What about PS5 hardware?
Sony's post links to the PS5 product page but doesn't announce any console, controller, PS VR2 or PS Portal deals as part of this promotion. Any hardware discounts in India would come through retailers like Amazon, Flipkart or Sony's own store, and none have been confirmed by Sony yet.
If you're thinking about a console, it's also worth knowing where prices are heading. Memory costs have pushed hardware prices up across the industry this year, as we covered in our look at AMD's falling gaming revenue.
What to do next
Open the Black Friday page on your PS5 or in the PlayStation App, add the games you want to your wishlist, and check back on November 16 for the second wave. If something you want is discounted now, look at its end date before you decide to wait, because some of these offers stop on November 20.
