Tipster Abhishek Yadav says the iQOO 16 will launch in India around December 15-17, and other leaks suggest it could cost close to or over ₹1 lakh. It's already on sale in China from CNY 5,999 (about ₹80,000) with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, iQOO's Q4 gaming chip, a 6.85-inch 165Hz screen and an 8,400mAh battery. The short version

  • Tipster Abhishek Yadav says the iQOO 16 will launch in India around December 15 to 17, 2026. iQOO hasn't confirmed a date.
  • Price leaks point to close to or over ₹1 lakh in India. That's unconfirmed, but it would be a big jump from the iQOO 15's ₹72,999 launch price.
  • The phone is already on sale in China from CNY 5,999 (about ₹80,000), with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, iQOO's Q4 gaming chip and an 8,400mAh battery.
  • iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya confirmed at India Mobile Congress in October that the phone is coming to India "very soon".

What the leak says

On October 28, tipster Abhishek Yadav posted on X that, from what he's heard, the iQOO 16 will launch in India around December 15 to 17. He cited an unnamed source. Yadav regularly posts Indian phone launch timelines, but this is still a single-source tip, so treat the date as likely rather than fixed.

The price is shakier. Gizchina mentions an earlier leak putting the Indian price at around ₹1,00,000, and tipster Yogesh Brar has suggested it could cross ₹1 lakh. Neither has been backed up by iQOO or a retailer listing.

What is official: iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya said at India Mobile Congress 2026 in early October that the iQOO 16 is coming to India soon, without giving a date.

The iQOO 16's specs

The phone launched in China in late September 2026, so the hardware is known. The Indian model is expected to be the same, though that isn't confirmed.

The chip is Qualcomm's top version this year. We explain how it differs from the regular Gen 6 in our Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 vs Extreme Gen 6 guide. The Q4 is iQOO's separate gaming chip, which is designed for frame interpolation and upscaling in supported games, like the chips before it. Our phone gaming chip explainer covers how the previous Q3 worked.

The screen's 3,300Hz PWM figure is about how the OLED dims, which matters if dim screens give you eye strain. We break that down in our new PWM dimming explainer.

Zerocade price comparison: iQOO 15 India launch price ₹72,999 and current price ₹85,999, iQOO 16 China price from CNY 5,999 (about ₹80,000), and the leaked iQOO 16 India price of around ₹1 lakh

Why the price could jump so much

On paper, a near-₹1 lakh iQOO would fit the trend. The iQOO 15 has already gone up from ₹72,999 to ₹85,999 since launch, and phone makers have been raising prices because memory chips cost far more than a year ago. India's smartphone market is feeling it: shipments recently hit a decade low as prices soared.

The iQOO 16 also carries more expensive parts than the iQOO 15: a 2nm chip, faster LPDDR5X memory and a bigger 8,400mAh battery, likely using silicon-carbon cells. None of that guarantees ₹1 lakh, but it explains why tipsters expect a big step up.

How credible is this?

  • The India launch: confirmed by iQOO's CEO, just without a date.
  • December 15 to 17: one tipster citing one unnamed source. Plausible, since the iQOO 15 arrived in late November last year, but not confirmed.
  • The ₹1 lakh price: the weakest part. Two tipsters suggest it, with no listing or official hint behind it.

iQOO usually starts teasing Indian launches on Amazon a couple of weeks ahead, so a teaser page in late November or early December would be the first real sign the December date is right.
