The short version
- RTX Spark is Nvidia's new laptop chip. It puts an Nvidia CPU and an RTX graphics chip on one piece of silicon.
- Laptops from Microsoft, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS and MSI went up for pre-order in the US on October 7. They ship October 16 and start at $2,599.99.
- India: no launch date or price yet. At today's exchange rate, the cheapest model works out to about ₹2.5 lakh before Indian taxes.
- The CPU is Arm-based, so not every game will run on day one.
What RTX Spark is
Most gaming laptops pair an Intel or AMD processor with a separate Nvidia graphics card. RTX Spark combines both. Nvidia's specs list up to a 20-core Grace CPU, a Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 6,144 cores, and up to 128GB of memory shared between the two.
Nvidia pitches it as an AI machine as much as a gaming one, quoting up to 1 petaflop of AI performance.
The laptops and US prices
- Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra (15-inch): from $2,599.99
- ASUS ProArt P14: $2,599.99
- ASUS ProArt P16: from $2,799.99
- HP OmniBook X 14: from $2,999.99
- Lenovo Yoga 9n 2-in-1: $3,099.99
- HP OmniBook Ultra 16: from $3,199.99
- Dell XPS 16: $3,799.99
The cheapest versions use the smaller chip, with 18 CPU cores and 5,120 GPU cores. Small desktops with the chip follow in November.
The gaming catch
The CPU uses Arm, the same kind of design as phone chips. Plenty of PC games work on that, but anti-cheat software is usually built for Intel and AMD chips. That's why some online games won't launch.
Nvidia's day-one list includes Apex Legends, Arc Raiders, The Finals, F1 25 and ANNO 117. EA moved its own anti-cheat over to make Apex work. More than 20 publishers have pledged support, including Riot, Ubisoft, Capcom and Xbox, and Nvidia says Call of Duty arrives in 2027.
Riot is on that list, but Valorant isn't on the day-one games list. That matters here, because it's one of India's biggest PC games.
What it means for India, on paper
Retailers list these laptops for the US only so far, and neither Microsoft nor Nvidia has given an India date or price. Some Indian price sites show "expected" figures, but they're estimates.
At the US price, this is a high-end creator and AI laptop that can also game. If you mainly play, check that your games are supported before you wait for one to reach India.
What to watch: an India launch announcement from Microsoft or the laptop makers, and whether Valorant joins the support list.
